The Orientation program for Luong Van Can Fund’s new scholars (Academic year 2022 – 2023)

On the afternoon of Friday, October 7th, 2022, the Luong Van Can Fund (LVCF) successfully organized a Scholarship Award Ceremony directly at the Ly Tu Trong Youth Union’s School for 152 students of the fund, including new students and students who have been re-awarded scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year. This year’s program marks the return of LVCF’s direct activities after two years of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The ceremony was attended by representatives from sponsors, universities with students receiving Luong Van Can scholarships, and various educational and social organizations that have been long-term partners of LVCF.

In the 2022-2023 academic year, LVCF welcomes 42 new members and continues to confer degrees upon 110 scholarship recipients from the previous years. All of these students have excellent academic and training records. They possess a spirit of perseverance, a thirst for knowledge, and clear future plans. After the Scholarship Award Ceremony, the Luong Van Can Fund students continued to participate in the Orientation Program and the Welcoming Camp right on the premises of Ly Tu Trong Youth Union’s School. The camp is an annual program aimed at introducing the core values and spirit of LVCF to the students, as well as strengthening connections among different generations of LVCF scholars.

This year, the Luong Van Can Fund Executive Board chose the themeReconnectwith the desire that this year’s camp would be a place for students to share their emotions, feelings, and thoughts with each other after two years of being restricted by the pandemic. The camp, named Accio, is designed based on the mystical context of magic, allowing students to transform intoyoung wizardsat the Luong Van Can Talent Support Fund’s School of Magic. Accio is a summoning spell, which can be understood as a call not only to the generations of Luong Van Can young wizards throughout the years but also as a moment to strengthen relationships and learn from each other. The Accio camp provides a sense of closeness and inspiration for camp participants. More importantly, the camp serves as a source of energy for the 2022-2023 Luong Van Can young wizards as they embark on a new school year at the School of Magic, engaging all their senses. In line with the tradition of previous camps, this year’s program continues to emphasize the “Digital DetoxandPlastic Detoxspirit, limiting the use of electronic devices and single-use plastic to bring students closer to people and the environment.

In addition to the enjoyable moments, the students also had the opportunity to listen to valuable insights from the Luong Van Can Fund Executive Board about the core values pursued by the fund and the sharing of a guest speaker regarding the values that a university student should consider. This year’s guest speaker for the Accio camp was Ms. Hang Mai, the founder and director of XanhShop.com, with her own business philosophy: “Customers are not Gods; Nature is the ultimate God.” Before choosing a “reverse flowlifestyle and settling in rural areas, Hang Mai had ten years of experience working for a multinational corporation. She was once referred to by the media as “Hang Xanh” (Green Hang) due to her remarkable impressions and inspiration to many people in practicing a green lifestyle and sustainable agriculture. Within the framework of the program, Hang Mai, along with the Luong Van Can Fund students, created an open, profound, and moving sharing session about their journey of self-discovery and the values they cherish in life.

After three days and two nights, the Scholarship Award Ceremony and Orientation Program for the 2022-2023 academic year left unforgettable memories in the hearts of all camp participants. Leaving the premises of Ly Tu Trong School, the students took away not only valuable knowledge and exciting experiences but also cherished memories. With the new academic year beginning, a long journey awaits, and the Luong Van Can Fund and the students of the 2022-2023 school year are ready to conquer it together.
