Luong Van Can Fund organized the Mock Interview program, academic year 2022-2023

Mock Interview is a yearly program by Luong Van Can Fund that aims to simulate a realistic environment and help students learn how the current hiring market operates. Through Mock Interview, students have the chance to meet recruiters from various companies and corporations as well as receive on-site feedback on their performance.

This year, the theme of the program was “Touch the Future Me” with the hope of inspiring participants to get closer to their personal goals. We believe that getting specific advice and more exposure would better prepare students for their future careers. By joining Mock Interview 2023, candidates had one-on-one interviews with recruiters or professional managers from reputable companies/groups; got feedback right after the interview; and attended specialized workshops for candidates.

This year’s program started off with a workshop on the topic: Recruiting in the Digital Age. The workshop aims to offer new insights on the job market and helpful recruitment information; therefore, it was open to all Luong Van Can Fund’s students as well as students nationwide and working people seeking career opportunities in the era of digital transformation. The workshop was held via Zoom, with helpful sharing from Mr. Vo Minh Tuan, currently Human Resources Director at Sieu Viet Human Resources Joint Stock Company.

Mr. Minh Tuan has provided students with skill groups which are necessary to prepare for any professional working environment. Accordingly, soft skills include 6 elements: Adaptability & Agility, Emotional Intelligence, Growth Mindset, Curiosity & Open to Learning, Creativity & Innovation, and Critical Thinking, Hard skills. Regarding hard skills, they include: Digital Understanding; Technology Skills; Data Analytics & Literacy and Security & Governance, all of them are essential skills you need to have. Mr. Tuan also shared about the intersection between the two groups of soft skills and professional skills, which is persistence for a specific orientation (Resilience). That means you need to be tenacious, persistent, never stop finding a way to strive and achieve the goal you are pursuing, as well as not ignore any debate. Persistence is a combination of attitude and level, apparently, it is not easy to maintain it. Therefore, each person must take action day by day, do unremitting practice to enhance themselves. The speaker also shared that it is perseverance that is the key to coping with and resisting changes in the labor market in particular, and, in almost all situations, an individual who does not have perseverance themselves will never achieve success.

This year, the program has caught the attention of students from both inside and outside the Foundation, with more than 15000 reaches. During the organization process, more than 38 hours of direct interview and feedback were conducted between candidates and interviewers within the program, in two forms: online and offline. There are 27 experts from diverse industry groups who supported Luong Van Can Fund to interview candidates. Below are industry groups available in this year:
