Tram is a student with disabilities, suffering from cerebral palsy and movement disorders: walking, writing, watching, talking are all very difficult. But inside that little girl is a beautiful soul with great aspirations: investing a computer system for primary schools and high schools in the countryside for children to have better facilities to learn English.
Born in unlucky circumstances compared with her peers, but to Tram, she is lucky and has a very “rich” family: rich in love, in willpower and in dreams. “My parents have taught me about strength and perseverance – They never gave up, from teaching me how to walk and read to taking me to school,” Tram said.
Besides, on the thorny road to conquer the knowledge, Tram was fortunate to receive the guidance of a dedicated teacher –MSc Le Van Vinh, the Vice Dean of Information Technology Faculty in the University of Technology and Education HCMC. Admiring Mr. Vinh’s great dignity, she persistently made attempt to become better and achieved her goals one by one: won a place at university, received a scholarship, enhanced English skills. These achievements will pave the way for her to soar higher.
Mr. Vinh is also the one who introduced Luong Van Can Fund to this strong girl. Tram knew it was a heaven-sent opportunity to break out her limit and comfort-zone. Thus, instead of hesitating, she ardently submitted her application to the Fund.
Accomplishing the Master of Data Analysis at Carnegie Mellon University in the U.S is the dream Tram always strives for. “Those fantastic excursions around the world of my teacher have strongly motivated me to improve myself so that someday I will do as well as he. My determination to study abroad even became stronger whenever I was engaged in training sessions held by LVC Fund and listened to the speakers’ sharing about advanced education systems in Australia, Singapore, England and U.S. I choose the U.S not only because I like this country, but mostly because it is a good environment to get experiences and overcome challenges”, said Tram.
Adversity is not able to defeat this girl. The unhappiness created a powerful Nguyen Vu Huyen Tram, daring to nurture and conquer the dream that ordinary people do not dare to think. When asked to share her views of life, Tram frankly said:
“Do not take the challenge as a reason to stop trying. Appreciate the people around you, practice “loving the challenges”, persevere with the dream and then you can raise your head for “living a life worthy of what you have”.”
