TALKSHOW “BREAK YOUR LIMITS”

When we were children, we were free to dream and there seemed to be no barriers, limits and fears of any kind. However, in the process of growing up, when we realize many things and understand the harsh realities of life, we begin to create a mental barrier to prevent ourselves from realizing our dreams and suddenly realize that those childhood dreams are harder to come true than we think. But there are still many people who always cherish their childhood dreams, and Mr. Tran Dang Dang Khoa – the first Vietnamese person to circumnavigate the world by motorbike in 1.111 days, is the one to be mentioned.

To help LVCF students understand his journey better, as well as inspire them to be more motivated to break through their limits to achieve their dreams, Luong Van Can Fund held the talk-show “Breaks your limits” on Saturday afternoon, December 26, 2020.

At the beginning of the talk, Mr. Khoa shared with the students his motivation to make this wonderful trip. His dream was rekindled since he was a boy. He had drawn for himself big dreams of discovering the world. For a moment, he thought that if he did not do it, he would regret it later. For him, the time before starting to do something new is the most difficult, the most challenging and also the most influencing period. But in the end, the childhood dream prompted him to choose to start his journey.

Even with careful preparation, sometimes things will not happen smoothly. Occasionally, the his motorbike broke down in the road and was repaired by strangers, sometimes he run across the border of another country without knowing it, or even facing a robbery. What helped him handle these risks well were his mental preparation and survival skills.

The atmosphere became more vibrant in the Q&A session, when Mr. Khoa introduced to the students the lands, stories, and people he had come across. He also emphasized the importance of English throughout the journey. English helped him converse, communicate, ask for help from people in foreign places, and got a temporary job to budget the very long trip.

At the end of the talk, Mr. Khoa reminded the participants to look at things happening in their lives in a positive way and always trust themselves when starting to do something new. When we have faith, dreams will be cultivated stronger, helping each of us to be motivated and urge us to overcome boundaries to conquering our goals.
