Luong Van Can scholarship awards ceremony 2017-2018

On September 1, 2017, in the scholarship awards held in the morning at the Representative Office Ministry of Education and Training Ho Chi Minh City, Luong Van Can Fund hold ceremony to award 86 scholarship recipients from universities all over the country in the school year 2017 – 2018.

The formal and inspirational ceremony was attended by LVCF’s representatives, scholarship donors, LVCF’s partners, representatives of universities which scholarship winners come from, mentors and 85 scholarship recipients. Compared to the previous school year, the quality of scholarship criteria increase significantly. For academic requirement, this year’s minimum GPA to be eligible for the scholarship application is 8.5, higher in comparison with 7.5 of the year before.

Based on the standard criteria, the Selection Committee has chosen 85 outstanding students to receive the scholarships in the school year 2017–2018. All students have proven to possess high academic abilities, big dreams and detailed plans for future development, though in need of support to pursue their education. According to the Management Board, the highest value of this year’s scholarships rises to 60 million dongs per student, which is as three times higher as the year before’s.

Besides the financial support, LVC Club usually organizes events and programs to meet student’s needs such as communication skills training sections, company tours, talk shows with successful businessmen and eminent people, English language classes to provide students with opportunities to fully develop their potential. More specially, through the Mentorship program, LVCF helped scholarship recipients to orient themselves toward their goals in order to make their dreams come true.

Giving a speech in the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Duc Nghia – Permanent Vice President of Association of Vietnam’s universities and colleges, Chairman of the LVCF’s Selection Committee, highly appreciated LVCF’s efforts in popularizing its coverage among the students across Vietnam. Not only awarding scholarships, have LVCF always created an environment for students to nurture and develop their talents. The selection process was conducted fairly and objectively by the Selection Committee, which consists of people greatly passionate about education.

Luong Van Can Scholarship Awards Ceremony 2017 ended in a warm atmosphere, but it has opened a new challenging school year in LVCF's path to pursue its vision which is support and company with outstanding students to overcome their difficulties.
